WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on the Royal Rumble PPV event at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX on Sunday, January 29, 2017. This will be the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Royal Rumble PPV event in San Antonio, and it still stands as the biggest Royal Rumble in history with 48,014 paid attendance and a total of 60,525 fans in the arena.
“WWE has got plenty of work to do to sell out the Dome which is why I feel that they will load the card for San Antonio with a couple of attractions beyond the actual Rumble match.” Ross added that he has his concerns about one attraction selling out the large venue. Either way, Ross expects it to be a fun weekend for fans with all of the events taking place on that weekend.
The Ring of Honor Final Battle PPV takes place on December 2nd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Adam Cole will defend the ROH World Title against Kyle O’Reilly in the main event of this show. Ross noted that he is excited to watch the PPV event on the FITE TV App. “”An excellent wrestling card is booked that I expect to deliver in a big way.” Ross said that as long as ROH sticks to their formula in the way they produce their PPV events, then he will stay hitched to their wagon. He is pumped for several matches that will take place at the event including Cody Rhodes vs. Jay Lethal and Cole vs. O’Reily. “It’s a well-booked card from top to bottom.”
Ross also talked about the WWE announcers and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report here:
