Jim Ross: If Ronda Rousey wasn’t on WWE roster then female talent wouldn’t headline WrestleMania

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has sounded off the rumored women’s main event for Wrestlemania 35, which is widely regarded as the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company, during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio.

WWE has already confirmed that WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey would be defending against Becky Lynch at this show. There have been rumors of WWE adding Charlotte Flair into the mix and making it a triple threat match.

Ross started out by stating that these are all big-time players and “Everybody needs to get together to make this thing work, so I believe that it helps everybody.” The pro wrestling legend made it known that he has no problem with making this a three-way match because he knows it will be structured and orchestrated to be one heck of a match.

“Let me be honest about it. We all know who the catalyst of this whole thing is, right? Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey’s presence, her image, what she means to the mass appeal audience is unsurpassed on the roster with the exception of maybe [Brock] Lesnar.”

Ross would later add that “If Ronda Rousey’s not on the roster – and you can quote me on this damn statement – if Ronda Rousey’s not on the roster, there’s not a chance in hell a female headlines WrestleMania and closes the show.”
