Jim Ross on WWE Roadblock PPV, if Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks should’ve been the main event, more

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on Sunday’s WWE Roadblock PPV event on the WWE Network. Ross said that it was a solid show, but it did not motivate the live audience in Pittsburgh. He added that he is happy that he watched the show but it reminded him that there are some less than positive trends within the business in general as it relates to in ring execution and logic/psychology that are perplexing.

Charlotte Flair defeated Sasha Banks in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match at the event to become the new RAW Women’s Champion. Ross thought that there was a lot of pressure on the two Superstars to have some sort of history making match. He enjoyed the match but said that how the finish was executed was perplexing to him unless it is going to lead to a persona change for either woman. He added that he didn’t have an issue with the match not closing the show.

Kevin Owens retained the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event. “Tough situation to be in for both Roman Reigns, who is cast as the fan fav but he's actually not, and for KO who is cast/booked as the villain but he's cheered versus Reigns.” He added that the two Superstars worked hard, which he respects, but the run-in finished seemed to fall a bit flat with the fans.
