WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. He stated that smart money seems to learn on the match having Goldberg defending the WWE Universal Title at the event. He likes the booking if it happens as it adds a viable wrinkle to the expected main event that was born under surprising and unlikely circumstances at Survivor Series. He noted that the agreement that WWE is building around two, older talents is feasible, but no promotion can save an epic match that already has a short shelf life. He noted that the more people watching the event, the better for all of the talent. “Seriously doubt that there will ever be another opportunity to promote Lesnar vs. Goldberg which obviously has cache now.”
Ross pitched an idea for Samoa Joe post-WrestleMania 33. “Goldberg vs. Lesnar at WM33 for Universal Title, Lesnar wins, Lesnar is the Champ until he meets, gasp, Samoa Joe on a big stage for the title. Joe gets the duke. Case Closed. Builds to a Kevin Owens vs. Samoa Joe rivalry around the title that could be epic.”
Ross also talked about Braun Strowman and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report by clicking here.
