Jim Ross pitches ideas for Kurt Angle wrestling again in WWE, believes Jeff Jarrett will make Impact Wrestling better

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on Kurt Angle possibly wrestling again in WWE. He expects WWE to carve out a significant TV opportunity for Angle this year. He noted that it’s too good of an opportunity to not to do it and that WWE will not pass on something that could be highly productive including a wrestling match and/or storyline. “I could see doing one, major bout but doing 2-3 bouts seems challenging unless the bouts are spread out to allow the story to be better told. I.E. Kurt could have a 2017 Summerslam bout and then WWE could program him to have something bigger at WM in NOLA. Kurt Angle is too big a star, too talented plus he’s healthy and motivated to do great work at this point in this career.”

Ross commented on Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett departing from Impact Wrestling. He noted that he expects to hear news this week out of Orlando from the latest Impact TV tapings. He is disappointed that Kanellis and Bennett left the company but stated that with management changes and changes in booking philosophies, that is to be expected to some degree. “It will be interesting to see who Impact designates as their first choices to assume vacant, main event level spots. Mike and Maria won’t be looking for work long as they are a marketable, talented package as well as being strong enough personalities to stand on their own.”

Ross expressed his confidence in Jeff Jarrett and commented on him being back in charge of Impact Wrestling. He believes that Jarrett and his staff will make the Impact Wrestling brand better but noted that it still remains to be seen if they can get the product to the level that it needs to achieve to grow, specifically in North America. He added that he hopes that they can but understands that we all must have some degree of patience as these positive changes will not occur overnight but instead over a few months.

Ross also talked about SmackDown Live and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report by clicking here.
