WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on WWE Champion AJ Styles. “It seems easy to predict that by year’s end, if not before, that AJ Styles will be WWE’s most popular in ring star as the grass roots feedback that AJ is receiving from WWE fans should resonate as legit, market research.” He added that it’s hard for highly skilled, physical talents like Styles to be able to get the fans in mass to boo them.
Ross brought up a possibly way WWE can book Roman Reigns. He pointed out that when talents who are positioned as fan favorites and who currently are booed on a regular basis might need to wrestle as villains to better fit their individual presentations. He added that Steve Austin did the same thing for years and it resonated for him. “This might work for Reigns, who might be better served to not overreact to the reaction of the fans and do his business.”
As seen at the WWE Roadblock PPV event, Sasha Banks lost the WWE RAW Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair. Ross said that it seems to him like Banks will be a more viable villain with a need to cheat to win and that WWE might be thinking the same thing as well.
Ross also talked about how to book talents and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report here:
