WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com about NJPW and more. During the interview, Ross praised Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi by saying that they have great skill levels and that they would be main event stars in any promotion even WWE. He said that you just have a feel for greatness and when he called Ricky Steamboat – Ric Flair back in 1989 as well as The Rock vs. Steve Austin, there is a just a feel for how it looks, feels and the buzz that those stars creative for the fans.
When asked about his prediction for the Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg match at WrestleMania 33 next month in Orlando, FL, he stated that Lesnar would go over with the F5. “If they use their head, make sure Paul Heyman is involved in the game-planning, and get an agent like Michael Hayes or Pat Patterson or someone like that, then there is no excuse that they can’t give you ten quality minutes, bell-to-bell.” He said that there is no reason that two guys of that stature as well as earning the money that they do can’t give a ten-minute match to the fans. He added that he firmly believe it’s possible.
Ross also discussed the NJPW’s upcoming G1 Climax Tournament and more. You can read the full interview here.
