As noted, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross returned to the WWE announce table on Sunday night at WrestleMania 33 to call the main event between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker. Reigns picked up the win after hitting several spears. Ross recently spoke with FOX Sports about his return to the company as well as dealing with the passing of his late wife Jan.
“I signed a two-year contract (with WWE) that has a specific number of dates that I’m obligated to work, which I think is good for me.” He noted that he looks at this way, he has his jersey back on and he got brought back to his home team and that his opportunities back in WWE will be multi-fold. He said that he has a lot of things that he can contribute to and that he has been so blessed in the business that he has done so many different things. He brought up that he was an administrator, syndicator, marketing representative, VP of broadcasting, and head of talent relations. He said that the fun part is what he did at WrestleMania, which was being a broadcaster.
He added that he hopes to have more fun part assignments in the future. “So if the team needs me to play, to work more than they anticipated because they need it, I’m in.”
