On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross addressed the online perception that there is bad blood between himself and Ric Flair after Flair’s recents comments on X. Ross shut down the rumors, stating there are no issues between them and that his primary concern is for Flair’s health as he battles skin cancer.
“I’ve had that. So I know what he’s going through, but I haven’t spoken to Ric,” Ross said. “He called me early on when I was diagnosed. He called me, left me a message, which was nice of him, but I haven’t spoken to him at length since that time.”
Ross was direct when asked if there was any truth to the rumors of animosity.
“No, not at all. I don’t know where that came from. People just want to dig up sh*t and gossip and things of that nature. But no, I have no agenda, negative or positive, with Ric. He knows I love him. He knows I respect him. I called some of his greatest matches, which I feel honored to do. So no, he and I are fine, as far as I’m concerned.”
He concluded by reiterating his respect for Flair and his hope for a speedy recovery.
“No big deal at all. And I have great respect for Ric for what he’s accomplished and all those things. So, no issues at all, Conrad, quite frankly. I just hope he gets healthy and feels good, and pro wrestling needs Ric Flair. He’s a big part of the fabric of our business. And I just hope that if he has a skin cancer that it is addressed and controlled.”
