Jimmy Hart says he still has enough left in the tank to return to WWE in a managerial role and would be ready to go if the company called, but he is not going to force himself into a situation that is not right for either side.
Speaking on What Do You Want to Talk About with Cody Rhodes, Hart was asked whether he would be interested in one more managerial stint.
“I could probably still go out and do a few little things, but if the company ever wanted me to do something, I’d be there. But until they want me to do it, you can’t force yourself on anybody. It’s like having a girlfriend, you can buy them flowers, you can buy them candy, but if they don’t love you, you can buy them everything and it ain’t gonna work.”
He compared himself to a fireman ready to respond at any moment. “Whenever they call me, I’m like a fireman, buddy. I say, don’t fail me now baby, I’m on my way.”
When Cody Rhodes directly asked if Hart thought he would fit managing him, Hart said: “I think you’re doing so good right now. I’d be the one to come in when the T-shirts started not selling and the ratings went down. But please, no. You’ve always been great.”
Hart noted that any potential partnership would require proper creative context and that he respects the people working behind the scenes at WWE for knowing their talent better than he does watching three shows a week.
“It’d really be hard for me to really fit into anything. I’d have to look and see with the agents or the promoters or whoever’s behind the scenes to put me with somebody if it ever happened that I would really fit in with, because they’re with the product seven days a week.”
