In an interview with the Boston Herald, Cena gave an honest evaluation of where he is at in his career at 48 years old. “I feel a little bit slower. I’m not as strong as I was,” he said. “I look at all the current superstars, and they’ve earned the right to chase their dreams. For me, it’s time.”

When asked about who he wants to face in his final match, which is expected to take place in his hometown of Boston in December, Cena made it clear that he is not picking his opponent.  He explained that his strategy is simple. “Whoever challenges me for that last match, I’m going to give it my best shot,” he said.

Cena’s farewell tour is currently in a feud with the returning Brock Lesnar, who attacked him at SummerSlam. The full interview with John Cena can be read in the Boston Herald.
