John Cena and Nikki Bella breakup could likely be a work at this point

As the media circus surrounds John Cena and Nikki Bella rumor and innuendo becomes everyone’s favorite pastime. John Cena appeared on the Today Show this week and opened up to Kathie Lee and Hoda about how he wants to be the father of Nikki Bella’s children among other things.

It was all a pretty interesting spectacle and Nikki Bella’s response was rather controlled on the matter. But there are still some who are really questioning the sincerity of this entire situation.

Dave Meltzer said during Wrestling Observer Radio that he believes John Cena and Nikki Bella’s breakup has been a work since their canceled wedding. He noted John Cena seemed to be reciting scripted material during his Today Show appearance where he pleaded with Nikki Bella to take him back finally giving into having children with her in the process.

“It was the same voice and the same reaction from when he secretly — coming off that secret proposal which everyone in the world knew ahead of time. So he’s doing the same cadence, the same thing so I go, ‘well that was completely fake so that was his fake reaction.’ So this obviously his fake reactions as well.”

“I mean he sounded so… the way he talked it was so practiced I mean I couldn’t buy it at all.”

Although there was a wedding that needed to be called off and plans in Mexico for a massive bridal shower for Nikki were nixed, there’s something going on at this point and it could just all be a show. But only time will tell how these two either reconcile or go their separate ways and find new relationships. But in the meantime, it looks like they’re going to keep telling a pretty interesting story for the public when an even more intriguing tale could be just beneath the surface.
