John Cena appeared on Tuesday’s Talking Smack to talk with JBL and Renee Young about returning to WWE TV. During the show, JBL asked Cena if he now considers himself to be in a similar role that The Rock was in and his comments about The Rock being a “part-timer.” Cena said that he considers what he said back then to be the "stupidest stuff ever" as he was looking at it through "very blinded eyes."
He went onto to say that he really wanted The Rock to return to WWE and he figured he would take shots at The Rock to come back and that it worked. He said that he has apologized to The Rock in person and admitted that he was wrong and that The Rock was right. He praised The Rock for being the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, and that he’s transcended the pro wrestling business.
In 2012 and 2013, Cena and The Rock did great business for the WWE as they wrestled each other at WrestleMania 28, which did 1.2 million PPV buys, and WrestleMania 29, which did 1,048,000 PPV buys. You can watch the clip of Cena talking about The Rock here:
