John Cena injury update

Update: WrestleZone.com is reporting that Cena had surgery to correct some breathing issues on Tuesday morning.

Doctors have told him that he’ll need reconstructive surgery to the nose and if he did that then he’d have to miss several weeks of in-ring action.

No word on if Cena plans to have the reconstructive surgery or not at this time.

Original: As noted on Tuesday morning, John Cena took a hard knee to the face during his match with Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw. Cena ended up with a crooked and partially displaced nose. The Wrestling Observer notes that Cena ended up being taken to the hospital where he saw an ear, nose, and throat specialist. There is no futher word on his condition.

I would expect Cena to still work SummerSlam since he’s the type of guy that will tough things out but I can imagine that it would be very difficult to work matches since it might be hard for him to breathe right now. Cena is scheduled to challenge for Seth Rollins’ WWE title at SummerSlam.

Cena’s injury was picked up by some mainstream outlets including People Magazine:
