John Cena is sick of the new era, WWE Championship match set for the Royal Rumble

John Cena returned to WWE TV for this week's episode of Smackdown Live. He came out and addressed some of his critics that say that he is a part-timer. He cut an impassioned promo and said that he is sick of hearing about the new era and he is here to challenge for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. He proclaimed, "I'm not done... I'm not leaving... It's not the new era, it's the MY TIME IS NOW ERA!" There were loud Undertaker chants during his promo which he sort of acknowledged without saying Taker's name. Taker vs. Cena is a heavily rumored match for WrestleMania.

AJ Styles retained his WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match with Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler in the Smackdown Live main event so Styles will go on to defend the title against Cena at the Rumble in San Antonio on 1/29. Styles and Cena shook hands at the end of the show but Styles yelled at Cena and told him that his title is not going anywhere.
