John Cena was Jimmy Fallon’s first in-person guest in months due to the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday night.
The former WWE Champion made an appearance on “The Tonight Show.” Towards the end of the interview, Cena plugged his “Elbow Grease” series of children’s books.
This is where he was talking about the books and how it still helps kids just like he was doing on WWE television with his “Never Give Up” catchphrase. This helped the inspiration behind creating the series.
“With Elbow Grease books, I have a very young audience in WWE. A lot of kids, a lot of families, and as my in-ring career is not as active, it’s not over, but it’s not as active. I wanted to continue to send messaging to those younger viewers because so many times parents have said ‘your ‘Never Give Up’ words have helped my son or daughter. ”
Cena was last seen on WWE television back at WrestleMania 36 where he took part in a Firefly Funhouse Match against Bray Wyatt.
Cena also talked about joining the Fast & Furious movie franchise as he’ll appear in F9 next year. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below (quotes can be found around the 5:31 mark):
