John Cena On His WWE Retirement: There Isn’t A Check Writer With Enough Money To Change My Mind When I Hang It Up

John Cena has made it perfectly clear that he is done with wrestling when his WWE retirement tour is over.

Cena’s WWE in-ring retirement in 2025 was announced during Money in the Bank. He has said that he will be there when Raw moves to Netflix before saying the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 will be the last times he competes. The former WWE Champion plans to wrestle throughout the year and wants to work 30–40 matches.

Speaking to ComicBook.com to promote his Amazon film, “Jackpot,”  Cena was asked about his retirement.

“There isn’t a check writer with enough money to change my mind when I hang it up in December.  I don’t want to continue for ego or financial gain. I built a relationship of trust and authenticity over the years with the WWE, and that’s people who think I suck and people who believe in me, they know that I shoot them straight and I’m trustworthy. I mean what I say: when I’m done in December, I am done. It is the last time I will perform in a ring.”

“Jackpot” will be added to Amazon Prime on August 15th. You can see the trailer here.
