John Cena’s match announced for big WWE live event in China

WWE has announced what John Cena will be doing in Shanghai, China for their live event on September 1st.

Cena will be teaming with Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor to take on Baron Corbin, Elias, and Jinder Mahal. This would be Cena’s first match since the Greatest Royal Rumble show in April where he took on Triple H. He is also scheduled to take on Kevin Owens at the Super Show-Down pay-per-view taking place in Melbourne, Australia in October.

Cena continues to work on outside projects but he is trying to make things work so he can wrestle on some major shows. The belief in WWE is that he will be back in time for WrestleMania season and possibly one or two more live events for the remainder of 2018.

In recent weeks, he has been filming a movie with Jackie Chan and talked about losing 18 pounds, presumably for the movie role. He is in demand for more movie and television roles so don’t expect to see too much of him in WWE going forward.
