Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa Made Surprise Appearance At Indie Show

On Thursday night, DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) made a surprise appearance at an indie show in Cleveland.

Gargano, who grew up in the state, was trained and made his pro wrestling debut in Ohio. There, he worked in the independent wrestling scene for years, starting in 2005, working for various promotions, including AIW. He continued appearing for the promotion until he joined WWE in 2016 and was sent to the NXT brand.

On tonight’s episode of SmackDown in Cleveland, DIY will defend their WWE Tag Team Championship against The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga. The bout was set up after The Bloodline won a number one contenders gauntlet match on last Friday’s SmackDown. The city will also host Saturday’s SummerSlam event.

The unannounced appearance at AIW’s Against the World event, streaming on Triller, where they cut a promo in a brief appearance.
