Johnny Gargano is currently taking a break from wrestling right now after his WWE contract expiring in December to be with his wife, Candice LeRae, as the couple is expecting their first child this February.
Before LeRae took time off, they were paired with Austin Theory and Indi Heartwell in NXT. Theory has since been moved to the main roster while Hartwell is continuing her role in NXT.
During an interview with Connor Casey of ComicBook, Gargano noted that he’s happy for Theory and put him over for working hard.
“Austin and Indi (Hartwell) both, it was always my mission this past year to put them in a position to where they could be Superstars. And they’re so young and they’re so talented, the both of them, and I feel like WWE has such a gold mine in Austin and Indi that I hope they take advantage of it because I feel like they can make that company a lot of money for many, many years.”
Gargano noted that he told Theory in a comment on one of Theory’s Instagram posts that he has all the tools to become a WWE Champion.
Hartwell was in action on Tuesday’s NXT where she teamed with Wendy Choo and Persia Pirotta to defeat Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter, and Amari Miller.
