Johnny Gargano hypes attempt to repeat history at WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto II

Former WWE NXT Champion Johnny Gargano took to his official Twitter account to hype his next match under the NXT banner as well as reflect on some history.

Gargano is slated to challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Title in the headliner of the NXT TakeOver: Toronto II event. It’ll be a 2-of-3 Falls Rubber Match with the first fall being a singles match while the second fall will be a street fight.

At the previous event in Toronto, Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa beat The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) in a two-out-of-three falls match for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Gargano wrote, “The last time TakeOver was in Toronto.. 2 out of 3 Falls? NXT Tag Team Champion? 2016 Match of the Year? .. and this time I’ll have weapons to play with? Oh boy.. Buckle up! #JohnnyTakeover is about to go crazy in the North.”

The NXT TakeOver: Toronto II event takes place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena and will air on the WWE Network. Here is the updated card:

NXT Women’s Title Match:
Shayna Baszler (champion) vs. Mia Yim
