Johnny Knoxville says he will be in this year’s WWE Royal Rumble match

Johnny Knoxville from the “Jackass” franchise is going to be part of this year’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event as the actor announced he would be competing in the men’s Royal Rumble match. He wrote the following in the caption of the video:

“New Year’s Day and love to everyone. I have a big announcement that I have been dying to get off of my chest. I spent a lot of times over the holiday thinking about how i wanted to start off my 2022, and I decided I want to do it kicking ass and taking names. And the best way to do that i feel is making a run for the Rumble, that’s right @WWE’s Royal Rumble. Training starts today, not that I will need a lot of it because I have seen the WWE’s current roster and it’s laughable to think anyone can throw me over the top rope. LAUGHABLE! I will be channeling my wrestling heroes like @therock, Abdullah the Butcher and the great Gorilla Monsoon. The way I’m looking at it I am giving myself a %100 chance of winning. What chance do you think I have? Sincerely, Johnny Knoxville, World Champ #roadtowrestlemania #royalrumble #wwe #jackassforever.”

With the “Jackass Forever” movie coming out on February 4th and the Royal Rumble going down on January 29th, it would make sense for him to at least make an appearance at the show to promote the film. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that he was told there would be a Royal Rumble entrant announced during tonight’s Day 1 PPV:

Knoxville and the rest of the “Jackass” crew have made various appearances and seen attending several WWE shows over the years. In October 2006 on Raw, Chris Pontius and Steve-O were beaten down by the late great Umaga.

Knoxville appeared on Raw in 2008 and wanted to see little wrestlers, which ended with him being attacked by Beth Phoenix, The Great Khali, and Hornswoggle.

In 2010, Knoxville served as the guest host of Monday Night Raw to promote the Jackass 3D movie. Last month, Knoxville, Pontius, Dave England, Zach Holmes, Jeff Tremaine, and Jasper were part of a backstage segment with Riddle and Randy Orton on SmackDown.
