Jon Moxley reveals when he decided he wanted to leave WWE

Jon Moxley has broken his silence about the reason he decided to leave WWE. He did so during a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho that was recorded before AEW Double Or Nothing.

There are a ton of interesting comments that he made during this appearance, which we’ll have a full recap posted on the site shortly. Moxley revealed that he knew he wanted to leave WWE in July 2018 while he was out of action with a triceps injury.

While his absence was extended due to complications and he wanted to leave WWE, he decided to stick it out until contract expired on April 30th because of two reasons. First, his wife, Renee Young works in WWE, as well as wanting to collect all of his remaining royalties.

Once he returned to WWE television in August of that same year, he started to count down the number of days that he had left and stuck it through until the end. Moxley noted that he would have left WWE even if there were no other options due to him being unhappy about scripted promos and depression of working in WWE.
