Kairi Sane is back with Stardom as she appeared during a press conference the promotion held this morning. This is where it was confirmed that she will be wrestling for the company. Going forward, she will be using the name KAIRI.
Stardom World Climax shows are set to take place on March 26 and 27 at Sumo Hall. Unagi Sayaka and Tam Nakano interrupted her and Sane expressed an interest in facing them at the Sumo Hall show with Mayu Iwatani as a possible tag team partner. Members of the Oedo Tai stable attacked Sane after the presser.
Sane worked for the promotion from 2012 through 2017 before signing with WWE and being sent to NXT where she eventually won the NXT Women’s Title in 2019. WWE called her up to the main roster to pair her with Asuka where they were known as the Kabuki Warriors. They ended up holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles once.
Sane returned to Japan in July 2020 and worked for WWE as an ambassador. Her contract expired this month. WWE did consider using her for the Women’s Royal Rumble match, but didn’t go through with it.
