The TV time for the cruiserweights has picked up in recent months since Enzo Amore was added to the division. Unfortunately, it hasn’t sat well with some of the wrestlers on the roster. Neville was said to have been unhappy with being overlooked for Amore, who many feel is getting by on his mic work despite being very limited in the ring. In this instance, the fans lost out on seeing a great wrestler because the belief is that Neville is 100 percent gone from WWE.
Kalisto, in an interview with Bleacher Report, acknowledged that Amore “has a big mouth and he’s good at it” and he doesn’t seem to be a huge fan. “The only thing that I believe he brought to 205 Live was his catchphrases,” Kalisto said. He continued, “How long is that going to last? It’s going to get old. It’s going to get boring. And people are going to know, that dude can’t go. It’s just a matter of time.”
He could have been saying that as a way to hype their match (the interview was conducted before the TLC pay-per-view) but his words have been echoed by many people backstage. Unfortunately for them, despite the real-life heat, Amore is drawing some extra eyeballs to the cruiserweight division and he sells merchandise so it doesn’t look like he is going anywhere anytime soon…at least not until they can build up more stars in the division.
