Former WWE Champion Kane (who’s real name is Glenn Jacobs) recently won his mayoral campaign for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs defeated his Democratic adversary, Linda Haney, by a margin of 66.56% to 33.44% .
He recently spoke to Rolling Stone to get his reaction to his first major political victory. While touching on the subject of his WWE career, Kane wouldn’t rule out making appearances from time to time on the WWE programming, but acknowledged that his primary focus would be his mayoral responsibilities in Knox County:
“WWE is always going to be part of me and hopefully I’ll always be part of it. I haven’t ruled out making special appearances every now and then. My main priority is being mayor, of course.
“[My role in the WWE] does bring a lot of attention to Knox County, so that’s cool. It’s just a matter of making sure everything I do — WWE or any other outside stuff — does not impact my role as mayor.”
