Since his WWE release, Karrion Kross has become one of the hottest acts on the independent circuit, alongside his wife, Scarlett. On a recent appearance on K100 w/ Konnan & Disco, Kross discussed life after WWE and shared some surprising details about both the fans and his finances.
Kross said the first surprise is the fans. “How many people who watch WWE are showing up at the indie shows,” Kross explained. “They didn’t know about the Indies… They had no idea that there are shows right down the road… So the amount of people that come up to us and say that every weekend is unbelievable”.
The second biggest surprise? The money. Kross admitted he and Scarlett braced for a financial hit. “I’ll shoot straight with you guys. I said, “Look, you know, we’re going to be taking a massive pay cut, no longer being with this company,” Kross recalled. “And she said, Yeah, and we said, we can live with that. We live way beneath our means”.
However, the reality has been far better than expected. “We’re actually like, we’re getting by very well, and I’ll just leave it at that,” Kross said.
When asked to compare his current rate to his rate before he came to NXT. Kross replied, “Maybe three or four times. Bro”.
