On a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, former WWE star Karrion Kross recounted a bizarre backstage incident where a talent relations executive led him to believe he had significant “heat” with the creative team and Triple H over a viral promo. The promo in question was a cryptic, in-character video Kross posted to his personal YouTube channel on April 9, 2025, following WrestleMania 41 weekend.
Kross explained that following a YouTube promo he released after WrestleMania, he received a troubling phone call. “I get a phone call from somebody in talent relations, and he says, ‘Creative is not happy. There’s heat. They’re pissed,’” Kross recalled. “I was like, ‘Well, I apologize about that. Let me go take care of that right now.’”
However, when Kross went to speak with the writers, he was met with confusion. “I go across the hall. I speak to some of the writers, explain everything. They’re like, ‘We have no idea what you’re talking about. We haven’t talked to that guy in two weeks.’ Some of them didn’t even see it,” he said.
After several days of no communication, the talent relations employee finally admitted the issue was with Triple H, but confessed he had not relayed Kross’s side of the story. “He’s like, ‘Yeah, I shouldn’t have said it that way. I apologize, it was actually Hunter,’” Kross said. “And I was like, ‘Man, so you’re letting our boss just sit there and fume for how many days now?’”
Kross eventually spoke with Triple H directly and resolved the issue, which he attributed to a simple miscommunication. “I eventually did speak with Hunter and cleared the air with him,” he stated. “He was super cool about it. Once we spoke to him, he understood where I was coming from. It wasn’t a live thing. It was on YouTube. But just weird, man.”
