Karrion Kross Says His Pitches To Be ‘Most Vile Character’ Have Been Rejected By WWE

WWE SmackDown star Karrion Kross has opened up about his creative direction in the company, revealing in a new interview that he is “confused” about the long-term vision for his character and that many of his darkest ideas have been rejected by management.

Kross Pitched ‘Most Vile Character Anyone Has Ever Seen’

Speaking with 10 Count Media, the former NXT Champion stated that he has repeatedly pitched much darker angles for his heel persona over the last three years, but they have not been approved.

“I would take things farther. I would take things way farther,” Kross said. “I’ve suggested to take things farther over the last three years—to be the most vile character anyone has ever seen as a villain. But they have not played out that way… I’ve had ideas that will probably be in the book since they never came to fruition that I’ll tell people about that would shock people. Really nasty, scary, bad guy heel stuff.”

Shifting Focus From ‘Nuclear Heat’ To Entertainment

Kross explained that with his darker ideas off the table, he has had to pivot his creative focus. He said that while he is happy to be on the show and will do what is asked, his goal has shifted from generating true hatred to simply entertaining the crowd.

“My mind has shifted away from getting nuclear heat because I haven’t really been permitted to get that,” he admitted. “So at the very least, it’s World Wrestling Entertainment. I’ve got to entertain these people. I’ve got to make sure that they’re leaving with a smile on their face.”

Kross’s comments come as he and Scarlett have become a consistent presence on Friday Night SmackDown. He was most recently involved in the orbit of the Undisputed WWE Championship feud, attempting to play mind games with both the champion, John Cena, and his challenger, Cody Rhodes, ahead of their scheduled contract signing on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
