As I noted on Friday night, Kassius Ohno was removed from the Performance Center roster page and moved to the alumni section of WWE.com.
Dave Meltzer confirmed today that Ohno was the victim of the budget cuts this week but it is unknown if he has been released or furloughed. Ohno has changed his Twitter name to “WWE Alumni.”
After proving to be one of the best wrestlers in the world, Ohno (aka Chris Hero) was signed to be in WWE’s developmental system in 2012 for a short run and was signed again in 2016. As of late, the 40-year-old had been working in a player/coach role with the company.
WWE released and furloughed several employees in the past few days with some hoping to be brought back. Several wrestlers were released with 90-day non-compete clauses and many of them were told that the door was open for them to return. It is expected that some people will be offered deals to return when live events are running again and/or if they haven’t already signed with another company.
