Katana Chance On WWE Run: “I Don’t Know If I Ever Fully Was Able to Really Find Myself In It”

Kacy Catanzaro, known to WWE fans as Katana Chance, has reflected on her near eight-year tenure with the company following her release in May 2025, has shared that she felt creatively unfulfilled. The former WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion spoke on the Lightweights podcast about her journey.

Catanzaro felt that from the moment talent gets on TV, “you’re kind of put in these spots and you’re needed to be a specific thing right away.” She elaborated on this, stating, “I don’t know if I ever fully was able to really find myself in it.”

While acknowledging that talent can pitch different character ideas, she noted that management ultimately has the final say. This was a persistent issue for her.

“That was an ongoing struggle of mine throughout my journey, which is—I don’t know that I actually ever got to do that,” Catanzaro shared. “And fully find if I was myself or whatever I wanted to be with no restrictions, what it would have been.”
