Kenny Omega confirms that he hasn’t signed new contract with NJPW, says he would like to wrestle John Cena

Kenny Omega recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about John Cena’s recent Instagram posts of him. “John Cena is one of the great WWE talents that I respect most,” said Omega. He noted that if he were to join WWE then working with someone like Cena would certainly be a goal and be something that he would want to do as his mission right now is to change wrestling. He added that he is glad to be on his radar but noted that he has not made any decisions regarding his future yet.

When asked about his future in pro wrestling, he said that he has set a dangerous pace for 2017 but that he’ll continue onward to the best of his ability. He noted that he still has more to share with the wrestling world so he wants to change the business even more together. “I fear that everyone has taken my words too literally. Yes, I’m out of the country and off of shows, but I haven’t signed any new contracts yet.” It should be noted that Omega’s NJPW contract expires on 1/31. He said that after such a huge loss, he didn’t want to just hang around and take part in meaningless matches. “I’m only interested in changing the business, so I’m thinking carefully about what’s next.”

Omega also talked about his match with Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11 and more. It’s a very good interview and you can read it here.
