Following the latest episode of WWE Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash offered high praise for the segment involving Bron Breakker, CM Punk, and Adam Pearce. Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Nash dissected the production value of the segment and the narrative implications for Breakker’s character moving forward.
The Spear and Production Value
Nash highlighted the camera work utilized during Breakker’s attack on CM Punk, specifically the shot capturing Breakker sprinting down the entrance ramp to deliver a spear. He argued that the presentation significantly enhanced the impact of the moment.
“I thought the show was good. I thought the Bron thing was really good. I thought it played out well… especially when they showed Bron like, make the 100 yard dash to tackle that motherf**ker,” Nash said.
He continued, commending the WWE production team. “You’ll never out produce that fight. I mean, their production is so good… and it just seems to get better on top of that. So that coverage was amazing. But like, once Bron hit him, there was not a person in that arena that turned to the other person said, ‘you know, he got beat by Punk last week'”.
Erasing the Loss to Punk
Nash addressed the booking logic regarding Breakker’s loss to CM Punk the previous week. He suggested that the loss established Breakker’s credibility, while the attack on Raw reestablished his dominance.
“When you make somebody and you can beat him. And Punk made him the week before. You know he’s… worthy to be the champion. And now you escalated to the point where you show that he is a killer,” Nash observed.
Comparing Breakker to his father, Rick Steiner, Nash noted the intensity displayed in the segment. “I don’t know how much of that was acting and how much of that was just… he is such a Rick Steiner. I mean, he’s so Robbie and Scotty”.
Separation from “Vision”
A significant portion of the discussion focused on Breakker’s relationship with Seth Rollins and the “Vision” faction. Nash argued that Breakker’s actions have elevated him beyond the role of an enforcer or stablemate.
“The situation occurs, and Pierce says, ‘you know you’re done,’ or whatever, and you now take the shot of them. And Bronson’s walking up the back walkway… And Pierce comes up to him. You don’t see any Vision around him. He’s alone. You know he’s standing alone,” Nash pointed out.
Nash concluded that Breakker can no longer function as a background character for Rollins. “He’s already separated himself from them on just his action. So he’s naturally elevated himself to a position where he doesn’t need Vision. And Vision was always Seth’s baby, because it was Seth’s vision… There’s no way Seth can go out there, grab the microphone and cut a three minute promo, four minute promo, with Bronson standing behind him with sunglasses on his hands crossed. That’s gone. Now those days are over”.
