Kevin Nash: Cody Rhodes Is The “Best Interview In Wrestling” Right Now

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has declared Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes the “best interview in wrestling” on a week-in, week-out basis. Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, the wrestling legend praised Rhodes for his compelling and non-gimmicky promo style, which he feels sets him apart from other top stars in the industry, including World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

“I just said that you got to protect, I mean, the beginning of Raw Cody comes out. ‘What do you want to talk about?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, God, I’ve missed this.’ I’ve missed this, because when it comes down to it, right now, on a week in, week out basis, he’s the best interview in wrestling,” Nash said.

He compared Rhodes to John Cena, whom he considers in a “class by himself,” but noted that with Cena being part-time, Rhodes has taken the top spot. He then contrasted Rhodes’ style with that of Seth Rollins. “You know, because John’s part-time, right? John is in a class by himself, but he’s not gimmicky. I think that I think Rollins is good. I think Seth is good on the mic, but I don’t need to be reminded that he’s the innovator. He’s this, he’s that. I don’t need all the wrestling shit.”

Cody Rhodes’ promo ability has been a key factor in his rise since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38. His emotional promos have allowed him to connect with the audience on a deep level, making his quest to “finish the story” and win the WWE Championship one of the most compelling narratives in modern wrestling history. This skill was on full display in the build to his recent successful title defense against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza.

With Wrestlepalooza now in the rearview mirror, Cody Rhodes is set to be a big program. He is scheduled to face World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a champion vs. champion match at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event in Perth, Australia, on October 11.
