Kevin Nash Compares Modern WWE Product to Marvel and Disney Franchise Model

On his “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash offered his analysis of WWE’s current television presentation, stating that the system is bred to be similar to major entertainment franchises like Marvel and Disney. The discussion centered on the idea that the modern product is often more focused on character presentation than on traditional in-ring psychology.

When co-host Sean Oliver suggested that fans today primarily want to see established characters like Seth Rollins perform, similar to watching a superhero movie, Nash agreed. Nash stated that this approach is intentionally cultivated within the company, beginning with its developmental system.

“And it’s, and it’s, it’s bred in the system, and then [in] NXT,” Nash said, before making a direct comparison to other entertainment giants. “It becomes, it becomes Pixar, becomes Disney. It becomes… Marvel.” His comments came in the context of a discussion where it was noted that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

While discussing the on-screen style, Nash also pointed out his appreciation for specific WWE production details. He referenced a recent spot on Raw where wrestler Ivar threw an opponent into the ring apron’s LED screen, causing it to visually flicker on impact. “And then he turned and smashed his back into it and it did it again, yes, absolutely, I love that,” Nash stated.
