Kevin Nash Critiques WWE Raw Go-Home Show, Questions LA Knight’s Booking

On the latest episode of the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver reviewed the go-home episode of WWE Raw leading into Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Nash offering critiques on the show’s opening and the booking of LA Knight.

Oliver opened the discussion by calling the opening promo segment between CM Punk and Jey Uso “a big bag of nothing”. Nash offered a different perspective, noting the inherent difficulty in booking such a segment. “The last thing you want to do is you’ve got two baby faces. So you’re not going to have physicality,” Nash explained.

The conversation then shifted to LA Knight, who cut a promo stating he was ready to challenge the winner of the Punk vs. Uso match, only to lose cleanly to Bron Breakker later in the show. “Why are we doing this?” Oliver asked. Nash noted that Breakker “gave him 95% of the match”, but Oliver questioned the logic, saying, “If Bron’s the horse to bet on, I don’t think that’s the thing to do either”.

Oliver also brought up a one-footed dropkick used by Nikki Bella in her match, which he “never liked”. Nash defended the move, stating, “the foot connected,” but did concede, “I never was a big fan of the person that dropped, kicked and landed on their back”.

Nash used this point to transition to what he sees as a larger issue with the current WWE product: a lack of repetition and experience. “Kudos to 99% of the work that happens out there, because I just know that those people are not getting the reps that we used to,” he stated.

He elaborated on the difference between his era and today’s schedule. “If I was wrestling Nikki, we would have had 35 matches before we were on Raw… And that was the beauty of that whole situation… that’s just a fundamental difference of the business right now”.
