If you ask Kevin Nash, Donald Trump would have made a perfect wrestling heel. Whether it’s because of his politics or the way he conducts himself, the WWE legend sees his fellow WWE Hall of Famer in a way that many may not want to see him.
During a discussion about Trump, the former WWE Champion said he got pushback from fans after sharing an Instagram post that poked fun at the US President, with some commenters telling him entertainers should stick to entertaining.
On the latest episode of Kliq This, Nash revealed that he has yet to meet Trump. However, he would welcome the chance to have a sit-down with him. Trump most notably took part in the “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23 in 2007 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
“I don’t know the man. I’d love to sit down and have dinner with him,” Nash said. He added that Tyrus, whom he called a friend, had a positive impression of Trump from his time in WWE and went on to build a relationship with him.
Although Nash is not a fan of Trump as the US President, he does think Trump’s public persona follows a formula wrestling fans would recognize.
“He’s the greatest heel of all time,” Nash said. “He’s corrupt as f***, and he f***ing plays the victim. That’s the perfect heel.”
He also believes Bobby Heenan was an influence on Trump. However, when co-host Sean Oliver suggested Jim Cornette as another comparison, Nash shut it down.
“You can’t tell me the f***ing Donald Trump didn’t f***ing watch Bobby Heenan,” Nash said. “Well, I wouldn’t do that to Jim.”
Nash added that if he did get time with Trump, politics would not be the first topic.
