Kevin Nash Responds to Critics: “I Served My Country. I Shouldn’t Have to Leave”

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash took to social media on the Fourth of July to explain why he would not be celebrating the holiday, sharing a series of posts criticizing the current state of the United States and engaging in multiple exchanges with other users.

Nash began his series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) by explaining his decision not to celebrate Independence Day. “I didn’t celebrate the 4th this year because I personally feel we’re not the home of the free,” he wrote. “We lose constitutional rights daily. If you’re a bigot please unfollow me. Peace out.” In another post, he added, “Happy 4 more trillion in debt day. Never felt this proud as we continue to destroy the empathy we once held for those less fortunate. So I guess Happy wealthy white 1% day.”

When one user questioned which constitutional rights have been lost, Nash replied, “Separation of church and state,” and referenced a “CBS settlement with Trump” as an issue protected by the first amendment. When another user suggested he should leave the country if he was unhappy, Nash, a U.S. Army veteran, responded, “Raised my hand and gave an oath to die for the constitution to be upheld. I served my country. I shouldn’t have leave [sic].”

The exchanges with other users continued throughout the day. In response to a user asking what being white had to do with his comments, Nash replied, “Are you worried about being deported Cracker? Sit in your Alabama double wide a shut the fuck up.”

He also offered his opinion on the current U.S. President. After a user made a joke about “storming the golf resort,” Nash clarified his position. “I wish no harm to anyone. Just wish he could stay on point on anything,” he wrote. “He’s the President and was voted into power. Just not in sync with his ideas of what our country needs.”

The day-long series of posts saw Nash engaging with dozens of users, defending his political stance while also trading insults. The posts come as Nash continues to host his weekly podcast, Kliq This, where he frequently discusses his career and current events.
