Kevin Owens was scheduled to wrestle Ezekiel or Elias or Elrod in a Men’s Money In The Bank qualifying match on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
The former WWE Universal Champion has been in a storyline with Ezekiel since April where he has been trying to prove that Elias and Ezekiel are the same person.
WWE advertised the match, but it did not happen as scheduled and no reason was given on the broadcast. Ezekiel did a brief backstage segment with John Cena.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Owens had a minor situation and couldn’t make it.
It’s possible that WWE could reschedule the match for Friday night’s episode of SmackDown as there is still one spot open in the men’s MITB match.
“No Kevin Owens, whatever the situation is, minor, but he was not on the show which is why the Ezekiel match did not happen as originally scheduled, which was, I guess, that was going to be for the last spot in Money in the Bank? There’s one spot left…I did not check if Kevin Owens would be ready by Friday, I just know that he was not ready tonight but it’s nothing serious is what I was told. Perhaps he’ll be ready by Friday and do that match.”
