Kevin Owens Has Not Underwent Neck Surgery Yet

UPDATE: Fightful Select‘s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Owens’ surgery actually hasn’t taken place yet, and the expectation is he won’t be back in 2025.

ORIGINAL: Kevin Owens will be on the sidelines for several months due to a neck injury requiring surgery, which he revealed a week ago on WWE SmackDown.

Owens discussed the injury in an interview on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, revealing that he believes the injury occurred in January, which would’ve been a regular match on SmackDown. He had an MRI done in December, which showed nothing aside from mild to moderate stenosis, but he pointed out that everyone has some degree of stenosis.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Owens’ surgery is believed to have taken place on April 7th. This type of surgery usually keeps people out of action for 12 to 15 months.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
