Kevin Owens says Sami Zayn “being Intercontinental Champion is long overdue”

Kevin Owens has given his reaction to his longtime rival Sami Zayn winning the WWE Intercontinental Title.

Zayn did so as he teamed up with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura to beat Braun Strowman in a 3-on-1 handicap match at Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center on the WWE Network.

As a result of Zayn being the one to pin Strowman, he became the Intercontinental Champion. This comes after months of Zayn not working a match on  WWE television.

Owens took to his official Twitter account where he gave his reaction by stating the title win was long overdue. He wrote the following:

“You can complain all you want about how he won it or his attitude but Sami being Intercontinental Champion is long overdue. The fact that he won it after growing hair that rivals Wayne Gretzky’s in his heyday makes it worth the wait though. I’m very proud of you, @SamiZayn.”.
