Kevin Owens Says He Would Have Sold His Soul To The Rock For WWE Title In A Heartbeat

Kevin Owens has chimed in on the reveal from the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries that a creative pitch existed for him to win the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber event earlier this year.

Kevin Owens Title Win

As revealed in the docuseries by former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, a pitch was made by himself and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for the title change. The plan would have seen Cody Rhodes refuse The Rock’s offer to be “his champion,” leading to an impromptu title match where Kevin Owens would have defeated Rhodes to win the championship.

Kevin Owens’s Reaction

The story quickly became a talking point among wrestling fans, and now Owens himself has weighed in on the “what if” scenario. In a post on his social media, Owens responded to a fan suggesting he sell his soul to become WWE Champion, making it clear that he would have been more than willing to go along with the plan.

“I would have done it in a heartbeat!” Owens wrote in response to the suggestion of selling his soul to The Final Boss and becoming WWE Champion.

The creative direction ultimately went a different way, with the angle at Elimination Chamber instead featuring John Cena’s heel turn and alignment with The Rock. Kevin Owens was not involved in that segment and was in the middle of his own feud with Randy Orton at the time.

Owens is currently on the injured list, recovering from neck fusion surgery that he underwent in July. We wish him a speedy recovery.
