As noted earlier, Kurt Angle will be inducted into the 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame. ESPN spoke with Angle shortly before it was made official. He talked about his 2006 departure from the company. Angle said, “It was just that I couldn’t do anything for them anymore because I was banged up and they couldn’t do anything more for me. I never felt ill will against them. It wasn’t like a nasty parting, it was just our time is up. You go your way, and I’ll go mine.”
He also noted that he spoke briefly with Paul “Triple H” Levesque last May and that’s when the seeds were planted for a return to WWE. Angle noted that he got the news on Monday just hours before it was announced to the world.
As of now, there is no WrestleMania match on the table but anything can happen but he said that the most important thing right now is his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame. For those of you wondering about a possible Royal Rumble appearance, Dave Meltzer noted on Friday that there had not been any talks with Angle about an appearance at the pay-per-view. Hopefully, something can get worked out.
