While the days of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle being an in-ring performer are over, he can still look back on his legendary career in the pro wrestling business.
Angle took part in a Q&A session on his Facebook page and during it, he talked about which match he thought was his career-defining match.
It turns out that it was when he took on Chris Benoit at the 2003 Royal Rumble pay-per-view for the WWE Championship. This event took place in January of that year to kick off the road to WrestleMania 19 at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
“2003 Royal Rumble World Championship match against Benoit.” Angle noted during his Q&A on Facebook. “Watch it. You want to learn and understand the art of pro wrestling? This is the match to watch. PERIOD”
Angle ended up losing to Baron Corbin at the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. This marked his retirement match.
