Kurt Angle’s niece rescued after being abducted on Wednesday

WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, PA is reporting that Kurt Angle’s 16-year old niece, Marjani Aquil, was found today.

19-year-old suspect Jermaine Rodgers was found hiding in the coal center of a home in McKeesport. He is accused of abducting Aquil after forcing his way into her home before 3:30 pm on Wednesday and an Amber Alert was issued. Angle asked fans on social media to call authorities if they knew of her whereabouts.

According to the news report, Rodgers barricaded himself in the house. “He was hidden in the coal cellar,” county police Inspector Christopher Kearns said. “A member of the SWAT team had to go and physically find him in the coal cellar.”

He was arrested on charges that include felony counts of kidnapping a minor, burglary and unlawful restraint of a minor. Another missing girl was found in the home and she was turned over to the county’s office of Children and Youth Services.

Authorities say that another person, 18-year-old Chrisitan Peterson, also came out of the house and will be charged with hindering apprehension and obstruction.

“My niece has been found. Just wanted to say thank you to all those who have prayed and have shared posts to help locate her,” Angle said in a Facebook post on Thursday morning.
