Kyle O’Reilly comments on possibly signing with WWE, reflects on his time in ROH

Kyle O’Reilly recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked about possibly going to WWE NXT. He noted that as a professional, he is always looking for new experiences and challenges. He said that ROH was a place where he grew and found himself as a performance but said that in order to develop himself as an artist, it was time to move on as he was with the company for seven years. He noted that their platform was no longer conducive to his artistic growth and creativity. “For me to fully experience this industry I would certainly hope there’s a chance for me at WWE. I am open to all opportunities should they come my way and a chance to prove myself as a world-class athlete. There are many talented performers within that company I would be excited to work with and many proficient minds I would be grateful to learn from should the opportunity ever arise.”

When asked about working with Adam Cole as well as winning the ROH World Title at Final Battle and losing the title at Wrestle Kingdom 11. He noted that anytime that you share the ring with Cole it is guaranteed to be something special and praised him for being an incredible talent. He noted that their paths have crossed many times since arriving in ROH. “Final Battle at the Hammerstein and Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome were no different, as they were both special moments in my career with a professional rival and a personal friend. When you look at the lineage of who’s been ROH World Champion over the last 15 years, you find some of pro wrestling’s most significant names.” He noted to have that title for even one day was a huge moment for his career and for the sake of wrestling history. He that he can be proud to look back knowing that he was once ROH World Champion.
