Kylie Rae’s WWE ID Contract Not Being Renewed

On Thursday, Kylie Rae announced that her WWE ID contract will not be renewed. In a statement posted to social media, the wrestler confirmed that her time with the company is coming to an end but expressed excitement for her future.

In her post, Rae stated, “Today I share that my time with WWE is coming to an end, as I was informed my contract will not be renewed”. She conveyed appreciation for her tenure with the company, writing, “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities, memories, and people I met along the way. Thank you to everyone who supported me during this chapter—it truly means the world”. Looking forward, Rae added, “As for the next chapter, I’m so ready to meet you!” , before sharing a personal note: “(Once I pop this baby out of course)”

Before joining WWE, Kylie Rae was a popular star on the independent wrestling circuit and was one of the inaugural members of the All Elite Wrestling women’s roster. She joined WWE working under the WWE ID Program. She became the first-ever, and only, WWE ID Women’s Champion. She vacated the title after announcing her pregnancy.

The “WWE ID”  is the company’s Independent Contractor Developmental agreement. Performers under this type of deal are considered independent contractors rather than full-time employees. The “developmental” aspect means their primary role is to train at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, honing their skills with the goal of eventually being “called up” to the main roster shows, Raw or SmackDown. It is effectively WWE’s minor league system.

Based on her statement, her immediate focus will be on the birth of her child.
