LA Knight debuted as a manager during the dark match that took place prior to WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

Knight managed former Retribution member Mace. Prior to the match, Knight cut a promo on behalf of his client and he stated that he was creating a stable called Knight Model Management.

As seen in the photo below, Knight was dressed in a suit and Mace's look was also updated. This is Mace's first match since the 11/21 episode of SmackDown where he wrestled in the Black Friday battle royal. WWE has not done much with Mace since Retribution broke up over a year ago but this appears to be an attempt to repackage him.

Earlier this week, it was reported that there was talk of Knight becoming a manager on the main roster after his loss to Gunther at NXT Stand & Deliver.

The managerial role is what Vince McMahon wanted for Adam Cole. The plans at the time called for Cole to manage Keith Lee and possibly get a name change and makeover. Cole declined to sign a new deal.
