Angel Garza suffered an injury while working a tag team match at Sunday’s WWE Clash of Champions event.
He teamed up with Andrade to challenge Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits. Fans picked up on Garza suffering an injury and the referee even threw up the dreaded X sign before Garza rolled out of the ring for trainers to check him.
An audible was called by the referee during the contest, which was obvious as Dawkins hit a spinebuster to Andrade, but Andrade put up his shoulder before the three count.
Pwinsider.com reported that the injury may not be as serious as initially feared. At first, the thought was that it was a quad injury. However, the belief now is that it’s a hip injury.
Dave Meltzer shared what he knew as of last night during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio:
“During the show, Angel Garza got hurt. The first word that I heard was a torn quad which is not a good thing. There’s been talk that might not be it, it might be a lesser injury. It might not be a quad, it might be a hip, so I think in the morning we’ll know more.”
As of this writing, Garza has yet to comment on the injury.
