Here’s a roundup of the latest talks about surprises and returning names at the Royal Rumble.
There was discussion at Raw last night about making one or two spots available for NXT talents in the Royal Rumble this year. Rusev was in last year’s Rumble before he was officially brought up to the main roster.
As noted earlier, there is talk of Bully Ray being in the Rumble match as a surprise. Devon could be back as well if a deal with Bully Ray is reached. It’s pretty much a given that they have to bring in someone for the crowd in Philadelphia. If they don’t get Bully and Devon then I can see them bringing in someone like Tommy Dreamer or The Sandman for the match. For the original story on Bully Ray click here.
Diamond Dallas Page was being rumored for the Rumble but it would be tough for him to be there considering that he is scheduled to be in Utah this weekend for the screening of the new Jake Roberts documentary at the Slamdance Film Festival. Page, Roberts, and Scott Hall are hosting a Royal Rumble viewing party on Sunday.
Bo Dallas is cleared to wrestle and is booked for the Rumble.
WrestleZone.com broke the news last night that Rob Van Dam is scheduled to be in the Rumble this Sunday.
Don’t expect Rey Mysterio on Sunday. The chancs of him appearing are very slim. For more on that, click here.
